Child Sponsorship

AMU offers two possibilities to support vulnerable children:

Sponsorship of a project

Instead of sponsoring a single child, it is possible to sponsor a collectivity, such as a school class or a social project in Latin America or Africa

1) For some years now, AMU has launched a new form of sponsorship: instead of sponsoring a single child, it is possible to sponsor a collectivity, such as a school class, or a social project in Latin America or in Africa. We have decided to focus more on this form of collective sponsorship, which does not put a specific individual at the centre but allows a group of young people or teenagers to benefit from this ongoing support. A sponsorship system ensures a certain regularity and predictability for the project concerned and can thus ensure the running of the project.

The donor can choose the project to be supported and will receive, at least once a year, news about the project and the children and young people benefiting from it. All sponsored projects are implemented and monitored by trusted local AMU partners, with whom AMU successfully manages projects and has regular contact.

The donor is free to choose the amount with which he wishes to support his sponsored project (e.g. 15, 30 or 50 € per month). The sponsorship can be terminated at any time.
The proposed collective/project sponsorships are :

  • Casa de los Niños in Cochabamba, Bolivia - sponsorship of a children's village and a school for mentally and/or physically disabled children, respectively children with cancer as well as non-disabled children.
  • Nasso in Kampala, Uganda - sponsorship of a kindergarten with a specific nutritional follow-up programme. The children all live in very difficult situations and come from the poorest areas of the city.

The donations will help to fund the activities of the different structures. For example, they contribute to school fees, medical care, specific equipment, excursions, etc. Your donations are tax deductible.

It is important to know that a sponsorship is a commitment over several years. Please contact us for more information.

Solidarité

Compared to a sponsorship, which is a long-term commitment, there is the possibility of helping a child on an ad hoc basis by making a one-time payment through a "solidarity". Details

Compared to a sponsorship, which is a long-term commitment, there is the possibility of helping a child in need on a punctual basis by making a single donation to our NGO with the mention "solidarity". This donation can help a family to fund an expensive operation for their child, to buy a prosthesis, glasses, the necessary school material,...
